Mustard Seed Faith
There were days when, while standing in prayer for so many things, I felt my faith shake.
Maybe you’ve been there too—grieving a loss, feeling distant from someone you love, waiting on healing, or carrying the weight of financial pressure or anxiety. Maybe you're doing your best to keep it together while feeling like everything around you is falling apart.
I know the truth within God’s Word. I understand who wins in the end. However, it’s still hard to be in the hurt—and to watch the hurt.
One day, I saw a friend wearing a necklace with a tiny mustard seed inside a pendant. I asked her about it, and she said, “This is my reminder that nothing is impossible with God.”
I immediately told my kids, “You know, I’d love one of those necklaces.” On my birthday in
October, my oldest son gave me one. Since then, I’ve worn it often. It has become my steadfast reminder that when life looks bleak and everything around me is falling apart, I can stand on God’s Word to activate my faith.
I often find myself touching the necklace and quoting this scripture:
“Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.” – Matthew 17:20
The mustard seed is a simple visual, but it anchors me in something eternal. Let me tell you, friend…God’s Word never comes back void. It is sharper than any two-edged sword.
The Lost Mustard Seed
This afternoon, while wearing the necklace my son gave me, the chain slipped off in a parking lot because I hadn’t clasped it properly. I caught the chain, but the pendant—the tiny mustard seed—was gone.
I spent thirty minutes looking for it. Finally, I gave up and got back in the car. When my husband called, I told him what had happened. He gently suggested, “Just buy another.”
And maybe that was the logical thing to do. But I told him, “That’s the one that reminded me to have faith in the hard times!” It meant something to me.
So I decided to look one more time. I stepped out of the car, and immediately—there it was. My eyes landed on the pendant, lying right there in the parking lot. A miracle? Yes. All in God’s plan? Absolutely. Another mustard seed lesson—planted right in the middle of my everyday life.
Mustard Seed Hope
When all feels lost, there is still hope.
At any stage in your journey, even on your darkest day, there is a breakthrough coming. I could have driven off and left that pendant behind for someone else to find. But would they have known what it meant? That tiny mustard seed wasn’t just jewelry—it was a testimony.
It was for me to lose.
It was for me to find.
It was for me to understand that even when all seems lost, God is still working.
And it was for me to tell you.
What in your life feels hopeless? What have you given up on—a loved one, a prayer,

financial relief, healing?
Friend, even if it feels like you’ve lost the battle, Jesus is still working it out for His glory. His ways are higher. His timing is perfect. And He will deliver you.
We are not meant to walk around hopeless or defeated. You are a child of God—and victory is already yours.
Scripture to Stand On:
Jeremiah 29:11 – “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
Hebrews 11:1 – “Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.”
1 Corinthians 13:13 – “And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.”
Questions for Reflection:
Who in my life could use a gentle reminder that God's power is always at work?
In what areas do I feel the need for renewal or restoration during this Jubilee Year of Hope?
What burdens or past hurts can I release to make space for new blessings?
How can I actively contribute to the hope and healing of others in my community?
